Senior Cricket Bat
Grade 1 English Willow
Mid to Low Sweetspot
The new L555 regular length blade and handle coupled with the full shape pushes the boundaries in design and conforms with the new MCC regulations, just! With it’s mid to low sweet spot and almost non existent scalloping this bat even packs a punch when you strike the ball marginally off centre, making this piece of willow very tough to go past. A striking new Le Mans Blue with Silver trim colour scheme, optimised F4.5 slightly curved face
dynamics and Gunn & Moore GM Terrain non- slip hard wearing grip positions this bat as the benchmark in Maestro design. All Gunn & Moore GM bats are finished factory knocked in with ‘Gunn & Moore GM NOW!’ anti-scuff sheet and ‘TOETEK’ DriGuard protection.
SWEET SPOT POSITION = Mid to Low: A hybrid setup that allows some favourability to players who like to hit down the ground but still want the benefits of a mid sweet spot. Rarely find yourself on high bouncing wickets? A synthetic wicket specialist? Or thinking about a tour of the subcontinent? Well this sweet spot setup could really help some of your shots. Blast a drive through the covers and you’ll know what we mean.
PREPARATION = Gunn & Moore GM Now!: This bat has been oiled, pressed, had extratec applied, and been given the Gunn & Moore GM ‘DriGuard’ toe treatment. However, we still recommend the full hand knocking-in process before use.
BOW = Standard: The regular bow found in the majority of modern cricket bats which gets your hands slightly ahead of the ball for ease of stroke play. It also helps the cricket bat feel more aggressive.
EDGES = Big: These edges are heading close to the magic 40mm mark. Big edges make for a forgiving and powerful cricket bat with a wider sweet spot. Please be aware that junior bats can still have big edges but they will be relative to 40mm due to their size.
SPINE HEIGHT = Medium: Often combined with big edges to create a forgiving bat with an extra wide hitting zone which still rewards striking the blade out of the very middle.
PROFILE SHAPE = The Pro LE has a very full shape with minimal scalloping
FACE = Semi-Flat: One of the latest trends in cricket bat faces was born from the need to add some durability to the edges of flat faced bats. When prepared correctly semi-flat faces bring the benefits of slightly bigger edges, a wider sweet spot plus ‘point and shoot’ aiming of a flat face bat. A slight curve also allows batsman to be confident when using the wrists to manipulate the face angle.
HANDLE TYPE = Semi-Oval: A happy medium that brings the benefits of both oval & round handles. This shape aids alignment, slightly weakens the bottom hand for more controlled stroke play and still allows for creative use of the bottom hand.
TOE = Toe Guard: This bat has been fitted with a toe guard
